Ryan Wheat
Hitting and Field Instructor

Ryan is a graduate of Oldham County High School and Spalding University. At Spalding, Ryan was a part of the first team in SU history to appear in the NAIA World Series.

After graduating with a Business Administration degree, Ryan began his coaching career. His coaching stops include Spalding University, Morehead State University, DeSales High School and Saint Joseph's College.

At each stop along the way, teams coached by Wheat saw a significant improvement offensively, and behind the plate. No team saw more improvement than the 2013 team at Saint Joseph's College. Coming off a sub par year in 2012, the 2013 Pumas saw a significant jump in slugging percentage, doubles, home runs, runs scored and stolen bases. That year Wheat coached 3 All-Region players and 1 All-American.

Ryan has been fortunate to work with 29 players that have gone on to play professional baseball in his 13 year coaching career. On top of the professional players, Wheat has worked with numerous players that have gone on to play in the college ranks.

On top of working with local talent, Wheat also serves as an Assistant Coach at Trinity High School, Director of Sun Devils travel organization and an Associate Scout for the Boston Red Sox. Ryan is dedicated to growing the game of baseball in the Louisville area in terms of development and exposure.
